to be consistent, I would prefer D4/R2... (anyone with the parts at hand to check? looks like the motor internals are quite similar...)
the Bühler replacement train motor (BL x551/x482) has a 2mm (D5/R2.5) axle, also seems like this motor size is inside both the old 4.5V/12V and older 9V technic motors.
could be Bühler 1.16 / Mabuchi F 280 / similar flat motor, ~30x24x18mm with 2mm axle
