11854s02.dat ~Duplo Candle - Cylinder
type: subpart
11854.dat Duplo Candle
type: part?
11854p01.dat Duplo Candle with Yellow Flame
type: shortcut?
Do s01 and s02 have to be closed meshes?
Does the description of 11854p01 have to end with "Pattern"?
Does 11854p01 require a "set xxxx" within the keywords?
How can I find examples of dual mold parts? Know any?
Subparts are correctly described.
11854.dat is a Part, but only to join the 2 subfiles. Try to keep all prim, tri, quad, edge and conds in the subs. The subs should be easy to use in all the coloured parts.
11854p01.dat is also a Part, not a shortcut, since it will use the same 2 subfiles, but 1 of them (or more) is coloured.
The subfiles in a dual mould part doesn't need to be closed meshes, except when one of the colours is transparent.
Then one mesh, usually the one with a solid colour, need to be closed. Think like this: You can't see the inside of the solid half, through the transparent half. Right? Note: There is no edge lines between the halves, but again: Can I see any edge lines inside, through the trans half?
The word Pattern must be added in the description, and that make a set number mandatory.
Study the structure in most of the Muppet heads, as a good example.
