This is a known issue of studio. I'm not sure that the problem is really related to the addition of studs. I had the problem previously with huge meshes. If you can't decimate the mesh to reduce the number of triangles, I successfully used this trick : split the mesh into n subparts, each with 1/n triangles, then make a shortcut that references these subparts.
