Is the height of the cylinder correct? I can't tell that from your images.
IMO the inside of the "handle with bars", 23422.dat , is too narrow. Don't think it is the same as a stud.
That upside down 1x1 brick didn't stick when you placed it on top of the cylinder. Right?

On the photos I measure 14 ldu for inner cylinder diameter. First photo shared by Lasse show a 32ldu cylinder height above plate. Actually, he just posted that
