I had a similar issue some time ago. My part was present in one program, but missing in another.
The "missing" file was saved in the VirtualStore. "C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\..."

If I today look in that virtual folder, I find a lot of files belonging to LDCad. Both 1.5 and 1.6alfa.
Am I doing anything wrong when I install LDCad, or is it due to the "magic of Microsoft"?
Is it due to the AIOI ? If I remember it correctly, it was the AIOI that placed it in the Program Files-folder.
I'm no good at this, but it looks to me as if all files that LDCad "writes", are saved in the virtual store.
The only exception seams to be the models I make, but they are saved were I choose to save them. As they should be.
How should I make a "correct" install of LDCad? What files should be in that folder, and where do I place it?
The setup/AIOI version of LDCad should never write files to virtual store unless you have the whole LDraw library in program files and are writing LDraw files into it using LDCad.
