Missing Ninja 1998 Minifigure pieces

Missing Ninja 1998 Minifigure pieces
#1
Hello all!,

I was wondering if anyone could help me with getting pieces scanned in for some missing Ninja 1998 characters!

Specifically, LDraw is missing these:
Bandit Chief Kendo (https://rebrickable.com/minifigs/fig-006...mor/#parts), both head and torso.
Blue Samurai 1 and 2 https://rebrickable.com/minifigs/fig-006...lue/#parts, https://rebrickable.com/minifigs/fig-006...and/#parts, both head and torso
Black Ninja Bonsai (https://rebrickable.com/minifigs/fig-000...ack/#parts), head
Red Ninja Master (https://rebrickable.com/minifigs/fig-000...ter/#parts), head and torso (although torso should be same as Grey Ninja but red, which is on LDraw)
White Ninja (https://rebrickable.com/minifigs/fig-000...ite/#parts), head and torso (torso should be same as Grey Ninja but white)

I had started completing the Ninja parts earlier this year, but got a bit distracted  Confused

I'll look through what's already there and maybe upload some later this week.

Dude, this is awesome! Now I just need the rest haha, but he is a pretty key one. Kendo and Ninja Master would be awesome.

And do you happen to have any Stingrays or Hyronauts to scan in?? I could open a new thread for that Tongue

Torso print is exactly the same as for the grey and red ones, so will not get a separate entry:

For the green version, torso already exists too:

Yes, I'll look into the Aquazone stuff too.

Those are perfect, only a few left before full coverage of the ninja 1998 minifigs I think!

Thank you! One nit is the torso print seems too dark brown? Other than that this is perfect!

Now just the samurai heads/torsos and the ninja master's head, and I believe that completes Ninja 1998 minifigs

I'll admit it looks a bit off, but Lego's ink color matching for (old) Brown (25 Earth Orange) was rather poor (mostly a bit lighter) in the 1990s. Combine that with Lego's problems with printing on darker plastics, it get's messy. I'll blame it on that (real ones are erroneous  Tongue ). Keep in mind that LDraw approximates idealised versions of Lego parts, so printing errors will be ignored.

When available for 90s prints, I usually refer to the vector-based instruction PDFs from Lego's customer service for colour matching, if the colours are somewhat unclear. In this case the instructions also confirm Old Brown. Besides, there are not that many options in 1998:
  • Dark Orange: too light
  • Fabuland Brown: too pale and reddish
  • Earth Orange (Lego's "12 Light Orange Brown", the colour of Ron Weasley's Hair and Duplo Lions): too bright and also too light
  • Fabuland Red (colour of Captain Ironhook's hair): much too Reddish
