Since the update of the parts have an impact in almost, if not all, of them I have this question: can I change the orientation of the parts (all families) so the front female plugs can be seen?
Plug34.dat and related parts discussion
I've put all the known types of the old 4V/12V plugs into a list, does anyone have the outliers?
The oldest (crimped) and newest (thin+flat one from Set 7745) arent done yet...
Also, any more info about the bottom one? Only found on Bricklink (Number 2767):

I don't know if have a building function, it have a purpose.
On the other hand, for me, it is one of the difference between 4112s01 and 4709s01.
And no, I don't rid of them because you dislike it.

So the bumps have an electronic purpose. It has nothing to do with studs/axles/whatever. So 4112 is perfectly fine to do the job since noone can see those bumps. Make 4709 an alias if you want.

If I do the alias parts:
- The actual parts remain as is and the new part are aliases or the actual parts needed to be changed to aliases and the new ones be the prime parts.

Admittedly I know nothing about 12V, but comparing 4707c01.dat to 4110c03 the only difference I noticed are the contacts on the left side and the 4 studs at the bottom. That's it. None of these differences have any significance for a builder. They might are important to you - to me they just add confusion and in the case of 4707c01 load an extra burden to the library of some 22600 lines of code.
You wanna be accurate - I'm not gonna die on that hill, but please reuse as much as possible from 4110cXX: Switches, cover, contacts. No alias needed just the parts already used.

I'd say the decision is yours but ask yourself: As a user I'd like to build digitally the layout in the LEGO ideas book 7777, page 49. I found 4707c01 in LDCad and drag it to the workbench. Now.
Yes/No - For me as a user it is essential that 4707c01 is made of 4708p01+4709p01. 4111p01.dat+4112p01.dat won't do the job!

It's not about the real part. It's about what is reasonable in a 3D enviroment that mimics a full circle with 16 faces. Keep in mind that all that hidden geometry has to be processed and calculated.

For casual end users, the inside and file structures dont matter at all, they just want to have the final physical shortcut. (4707c01-05 or 411c03/4+700xx)
For advanced end users, these may want "moved" shortcuts (made of the bases+keys) but these will have to take the normal shortcuts and inline them to move the keys.
The only "confusion" I guess which could be there would be the c06-08 because they are half-assemblies.
I think the structure and geometry is OK.
Only question from my side (i just found that): why did the origin move? looks like the old origin was at the top of the keys, the new origin is at the top stud level (like the rules are), but that may break old files...
