Well I may have some free time in the next few days because the fam is out of town. I'll see if I can bang out the last pattern. No guarantees though.

Yeah, that's where I'm at too. I'm going through the LPC tutorials, and I feel like one of Philo's hacks should work here, but it's possible he'll need to invent another one. (Maybe we can motivate him with the fact that it's another French landmark!) Tongue

21061 building instructions are also available now but two new parts need to be authored. (I'll do the nameplate, can anybody see if the rosetta window can be gotten from the BI app?)

What's going on with the slopes on the right side? Some kind of Studio shading issue I guess?

The quarter windows is done, I have made also a quarter 3960 but I can't perform the match with SlicerPro in LDP (1.8.77) !?
It's my first try, probably i do something wrong.

Solution found with LETGUI. First proposal submited as 3960p0j.dat

Hi Marc,
I was warned that the magic wand was too long to build Notre Dame... An updated shorter version is now available here:

The nameplate is on PT now. I haven't started building the model, as I'm still only halfway through Himeji Castle. Tongue

Some check to do (inventory, contact). But the most important is done. Due to my Covid, Esmeralda let me finish.

Just a curious tidbit I noticed: while the part is authored correctly as far as having the "spokes" of the pattern aligned vertical and horizontal, the official building instructions show them rotated 15 degrees so that the negative spaces—petals, if you like—are orthogonal.

This actually has a historical basis: apparently, the rose windows were indeed aligned at this angle when originally built. It wasn't until the restoration project of the mid-19th century that they were reoriented so that the spokes are vertical and horizontal as they are today.

However, since the finished build shows the post-restoration conditions, it is still an anachronism.
