Hello,

does anyone know if the digital version of these two capes

68591

is available anywhere (possibly folded so they can be worn)?

Thank you very much in advance. Smile

  Advice on subpart naming
Posted by: Peter Blomberg - 2025-04-07, 22:52 - Forum: Parts Authoring - Replies (1)

To what extent does the subpart name have to follow the name of the main part?

I've seen and used many variants. The main part name + something in parenthesis, the main part name + something about the subpart (e.g. "without front surface"), something similar to the main part name but describing the subpart instead of the main part, something completely unrelated to the main part, etc.

Some subparts are reused in other parts and this reuse might not be known at the time of authoring the subpart.

What would be the preferred way?

  Parts that do not connect
Posted by: Luís Paulo Fernandes - 2025-04-07, 18:05 - Forum: Parts Authoring - Replies (2)

Good afternoon everyone, this is my first post on this forum for me it's all new, I'm still learning how to work with LDCad, I hope I don't say anything stupid, I'm having a problem with some parts that I built, but they don't connect with the rest, I need you to clarify, is there any part construction application compatible with LDCad? I have attached my parts that do not connect.
Thank you for your attention.

  Help with Duplo umbrella 40554
Posted by: Peter Blomberg - 2025-04-06, 21:40 - Forum: Parts Authoring - Replies (13)

I started looking at the Duplo umbrella 40554 because of the nice mathematical shape. However, now I'm clueless of how to proceed.

I have the flat shape in a subfile and have scaled it to follow a hi-res arch of the right size for the outer skin of the umbrella.
The flat shape is just a bunch of lines; 96 line segments. Together they make a terrain type of height map.

The vertex density will need to be reduced (particularly in the middle) without loosing the rigde effect along the eight "spokes" of the umbrella. The lines (or equivalent point mesh) will need to be converted into triangles.

Any suggestions?

  Pith Helmet with Ponytail
Posted by: Belic - 2025-04-05, 13:50 - Forum: Part Requests - Replies (4)

Hello everyone!
Is it possible for somebody to make this part in LDraw:

Minifigure, Hair Combo, Hat with Hair, Pith Helmet and Dark Orange Hair in Ponytail Pattern

It appears as a hairpiece for CMF Paleontologist, but it can be useful for modern renditions of Adventurers, like new headgear for Pippin Reed/Gail Storm.

It exists in LDD.

Thank you very much!

  Rect decimal precision
Posted by: Magnus Forsberg - 2025-04-02, 21:05 - Forum: Parts Authoring - Replies (10)

Only to prove my point, I have in these files reduced the number of decimals, 3, 2 and 1, and then created rect primitives.
The number of decimals, or the creation of rect primitives, is not the reason for thin gaps.

I challenge anyone to find a gap in them.

The only thing that happens is that there might be a need for some condlines.
But even they are possible to eliminate as shown in u9563s01- flat no cond.dat.
