Philo,

I foresee many sleepless nights with you in front of LDPC making all those missing stickers.

w.
10272 - Old Trafford - Manchester United
[attachment=4920]
OMR Compliant
Missing: Stickers, oh some many stickers (on a side note, I did find a good scan of the sticker sheet of someone wants to try their hand. I have too many other projects)
Notes: There is some minor part overlap in places.
10253 - Big Ben
[attachment=5027]
OMR Compliant
Missing: Nothing
Note: The Studio editor shows the clock face incorrectly (the pattern doesn't show through the backside part) but the photoreal render shows it correctly.
10256 - Taj Mahal
[attachment=5040]
OMR Compliant
Missing: 2454 substituted for 2454b
10269 - Harley-Davidson Fat Boy

[attachment=5059]

OMR Compliant
Missing:
- 35394 (Dish 4 x 4 Inverted with Open Stud), used 3960 instead
- The Harley logo printed 2 x 4 Tiles on the side of the gas tank
- Stickers
Notes:
 - Gears and chain not aligned (to much trouble)
 - Very small overlaps in some places (near the engine but not noticeable unless you really look)
 - The wheel part, 46334 (and probably the tyre too) are a bit too wide. These are unofficial parts so presumably they'll be fixed at some point
10214 - Tower Bridge

[attachment=5061]

Missing: Nothing
Notes: Uses an LDCad flex object for the cables. This does not affect rendering in Studio.

Interesting usage... how did you adjust end point, trial and error?

 Pretty much. I could have figured out the precise angles but didn't want to spend half the afternoon doing trig and geometry.
35394 is now made and uploaded to the PT.

Thanks Magnus. I was going to do this myself but you beat me to it.

You forgot to rotate the mirror arms. ;-)

This was one of the sets I bought in Billund last years. But it is still sealed and I'm unsure if I will open it to get the stickers out or not. :-)
10226 - Sopwith Camel

[attachment=5076]

Missing: Stickers
Notes: The rigging isn't perfect but it's good enough and I could spend a week tweaking and still not get it where I want it.

Missing:
 - Stickers
 - Gingerbread man/woman head, torso

 - Gingerbread baby printed 1x2 tile
 - Minifig baby bottle (18855)

Notes:
 - There are place holder files for the gingerbread man and woman with just the leg assemblies
 - I am aware of the color error on the candy cane in the render. It is fixed in the file.

This set is what started my Creator Expert streak. The angles in this set were making my brain hurt so I took a break for a while. I'm back to finish up

Boy, you're not kidding. I had the darnedest time even figuring out the angles in the Architecture version.

Don't get me wrong, the angles won't be exact. I don't have the patience to figure that out.

Hi,

since one should at least post once to be considered real, I post to say hello, and thank you for preparing this model. I was looking in the  OMR but did not find it there, so looked in the forum.

I made a modification of the fatboy to look like a Yamaha Dragstar 1100 which my father owns in real, even with the same dark redish color, because it is very very close to the fatboy. It still took me quite some time as it was my first ever LEGO that had to "look" close to something real, and around 60 additional parts I had to buy to complete the design that looked the closest to me.

Now I thought, why not modify the existing LDraw model as well, and share it, before the real LEGO model lands on the shelve of my father in 10 days  (birthday present !)

Because the modification will be done starting from your LDraw model, is it allowed to reshared it on the forum somewhere, of course giving you credit, or should I wait for it to appear officially on OMR first ?

thanks
Guillaume

Fixed (I didn't redo the preview image).

This model went fast (lots of symmetry) until I hit the tall sides. All of those sides are similar but not the same. LDCad's ability to view and edit each step came in very handy.

AAAH—that sort of thing is the bane of my existence! You are brave to have attempted it.  Cool

This reminds me of a feature I wish existed somewhere; I'd call it "gravity". It would let you virtually "drop" loose pieces onto a surface or into a container, and they would lie naturally. (I guess this would require at least collision info, along with some way of modeling the mass and center of gravity of a part?)

...and friction between parts...
Impressive (and beautiful) work Orion!

Yes, friction…if you wanted to actually model how pieces fall into a pile. Although I'd be happy enough to be able to drag a part straight down until it collides with another part, then use that contact point as a pivot point to rotate the part into a position of rest.

And I concur—beautiful model!

Sneak peek. The set will be arriving on Friday so I can model the patterns, solar panels, and stickers. The windshield will be trickier and I'll prolly need help from more seasoned authors.

I did not find a picture of the bottom of the windshield so far, that would be good.
Also the panels of the cargo bay need to be done!

Stickers are done. 5 patterns, 2 formed stickers, and one sticker shortcut left. Plus I'm about 75% done with the model itself.
