Hi,

I have for a few years been wanting to upscale set 42145 so that it looks right with the lego dune ornithopter blades
But whenever I try by just reading the instruction manual, I either upscale only one or 2 axis and not 3, or I upscale all 3 axis but it looks weird (the wheels were way to far apart)

So, I thought it might be a good idea to have a reference model that is blown up in LDCAD

Therefore I am wondering if this is possible, or would up-scaling a part also shift its position, and then the whole model will look like a salad.

Here is the model

I'm currently working on a new project and I'm quite new to all of this LEGO data. I was wondering if there is some way to download the LDraw's database of files and export them to .png's of .jpeg's. The thing here is, I would like to be able to link all parts to my rebrickable data.

Does anyone have any experience in this process?

There is a certain shade of grey used in many of the models in the Star Wars cinematic universe (i.e. the movies). I'm talking about Han Solo's Millennium Falcon, the various Imperial fighter craft and capital ships, and the Death Star trenches.

In my opinion, the LDraw color 71 is just a bit too dark for this specific shade of grey. However, when I try using color 151 for this shade of grey, the result looks too close to white, especially for the TIE fighters (since the grey is contrasted with black).

Per the official color specifications for LDraw, color 71 is #969696, and color 151 is #C8C8C8. Therefore, the custom shade of grey I think I should be using would be #AFAFAF. (Since both of the afore-mentioned "official" shades of grey use the same Edge Color, I do not need to create a new such shade.)

Now that I have the RGB hexadecimal value to use for the desired shade of grey, how do I use this info in my LDraw models, please?

Thanks!

Hi everyone I hope you are all well!
I am relatively new to LDCad and have come across something which is driving me crazy!!!!! It is with regard to the screen layout. when I first started using the program there is a blue, red and green colored graph in the bottom left of the screen and when you hover the mouse over it it gets larger and a box appears around it. But this graph was far enough away from the left hand edge of the screen so that the part selector box ran to the bottom. The graph on my screen has gone right into the bottom left hand corner of the screen which means the part selector box is in front of it I can reduce the size of the part selector box so the graph is visible but that means it is not big enough!
I have tried all ways to bring the graph out to its original position but can't get it to move. Can anyone tell me if and how it can be moved??

How can I fix it? And if I can, would anyone be willing to try exporting it and send me back the resulting DAT file? The LPC project is attached…

I've started to model the 42125 set, and I have a problem with the front hood. This one is a 5-bar linkage, not so easy to create directly in LDCad. I created a Geogebra model that easily gives me a solution, but when I bring the values in the model the hood is placed very low and there is a collision between the hood and the chassis. I think I verified correctly all the assemblies, so I'm puzzled...
Hello everyone!

This is my first post. I am just started with Mlcad and it is impressive how many parts has got the LDraw library.

Now I am trying to make virtual duplo models but I can not find some parts. I have done a lot of searches with differents words, numbers.... and I do not know if the parts are not available or I am doing something wrong (possibly is the right answer).

I would like to use 1x3x2 triangle and 1x3x2 round sign. I post two images because in brickset/rebrickable there are a lot of reference numbers for the same parts.

Hello,

this is my first post.
I've been using the various LEGO CADs (LDD, LDraw, Stud.Io) mainly to render parts for a videogame i'm making.

Now, I have two questions, I really appreciate any answer I can get, because I'm no newbie but all of this is getting really confusing and I'm just thinking I need some clarifications.

QUESTION #1 - PARTS MISSING
Ok, I find that LDD, Stud.Io and LDraw have a lot of parts, but when it comes on minifigures the three lack a lot, really a lot of parts that I have phisically. Now, don't get me wrong, I KNOW that there is a lot of work behind anything so that every part is a lot of work from people not paied for the job, so really I understand this. But I take also into account that I am doing something wrong EG. not working properly or not looking in the right place.
So: is that true that minifigure weapons, headgear and armours (I am doing a fantasy game) are so few, or am I looking in the wrong direction?

QUESTION #2 - BLENDER
Ok, the game I'm making it's a 2d classical styled one, so I just need renders. But I really wish to move to 3d sooner or later. I found out that my framework fully supports Blender, so I'd need something that correctly takes stuff into Blender. Well, I found here a plugin... so I was excited I tried to create a minifigure in LDraw, the simplest one, but I didn't see it correctly into Blender. So something didn't work properly. So: did anyone try to render or better animate a minifigure into Blender? If yes, I'd really like to know which process they underwent because that would be a life saver in order to create a working model of a minifigure who walks, jumps and does stuff.

Thank you very much and Merry Christmas.

I'm working to create a documentation sub section of the main site. I don't remember who did the one you see at the top of all of our pages. If the original author or someone else wants to create new colors for us that would be great:
Currently we have:
Red: Centralised LDraw Resources
Blue: LDraw Discussion Forum
Green: LDraw Parts Tracker
Yellow: LDraw Parts Requestor (Not in use)

I'd like three new ones:
LDraw Wiki
LDraw Documentation
LDraw Official Model Repository

Note the "tm" in the upper right corner. That is required. Colors are up for discussion. I'd like the final product to be as close to the original as possible. Any substantial redesigns will be entertained but they will also need to be discussed by the community at large. The final product needs to be fairly high resolution as I'm looking to do printed material (like new LUG banners) as well

Will also need new favicons and just the fade-in brick in the new colors.
