Hello all,

I recently got a new computer (Windows 10), and after installing MPDCenter, I’m encountering an issue where it won't create an Inventory file. I receive the following error message:

"La conversion de la chaîne '1/426' en Integer n'est pas valide. Microsoft VisualBasic."
This translates to something like: "Conversion of the string '1/426' to Integer is not valid. Microsoft VisualBasic."

Even though MPDCenter generates the .bat, .html, and .pbg files, the .html file only contains the table headers:
Parts List for 40691_mythical_pegasus_bird.mpd (0 parts) and Part/Color/Quantity.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Hello folks,

it surprised me that there is practically no info here about BlockCAD created by Anders Isaksson. Especially when I discovered that the man is/was also a member on this forum (last visit many years ago).

It was the first Lego related program I did use. I know it's not directly associated with LDraw (seems like it has it's own filetype LGO, but support DAT files - I didn't test it), but there are some options that work with LDraw. I think the man did the awesome work since there is only a small installer and here you are - you can build with most of bricks. His website is still online and installer and program still works!
https://www.blockcad.net/ (although there is older version than on sites with games and software)

What are your opinions? Did you guys use BlockCAD?

Hi all. I recently started working on a ThreeJS/LdrawLoader based webapp after putting it off for some time. It's called Gr8brik. It's exactly what it sounds like.
I have to admit that I've only been doing ThreeJS for less than a year, same with LdrawLoader. I discovered Ldraw three years ago - and since I've liked it. I've also liked things like Mecabricks, which is why I've decided to "combine" the two in a way - all I can say is making this has been fun.

Note there is loads and loads of bugs, and I plan to rewrite multiple things. Also this isn't a complete alternative to things that already exist, ofc Bricklink Studio is going to be better than this.

Also - you're free to look at the source code - just be aware it's very messy and uses some hacks to get things working.

I am trying to figure out how to take Lego model files and get a list of all parts and how they connect. Ideally, I would get something akin to an edge list (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edge_list) so I can make a design structure matrix (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Design_structure_matrix) showing how each part connects the others.

I have been looking at stuff, and the files appear to just store each part at a location and the programs state whether they collide or connect. I see that a lot of that information is kept in binary form, or lists the relative location of each connection part (such as stud2).

I am lost as to where to start. Worst case, I would have to do a giant for loop thing to check each part, the location of each other, and if it connects and how. That sounds computationally impossible for larger sets.

If you have any recommendations, please let me know.

If you're curious, this is one that I did manually. It is set 8045: the mini telehandler. You can see parts of the lift part and the fork.

Hello 👋

I've created a small webapp that generates LEGO houses, 1980s style!

It's a bit like one of those AI image generators, except it uses traditional Procedural Generation techniques, not AI. As well as displaying the model you can zoom, spin around etc, and you can download the LDraw source to edit the house in your favourite tool.

I should say that it's probably fairly useless at this point and it does have a few issues:

There are quite a lot of cases where it overlaps bricks, especially on a roof

Bricks on a roof are sometimes not interleaved

Many of the houses it generates are a bit boring! But keep clicking and you'll probably find something a bit funky!

This is only the first public version, but I'll be adding features and fixing bugs and I'll keep this thread updated with notable changes.

Hello!

I would like to thank all of them, who helped me during creating this simple game (few months ago I registered here to get some hints with using LDCad and ldraw files in order to create game).

There was no spectacular success, but my nephews had a little fun playing this game

Game is available online:
If you have GH account I will be very pleased when you give a star to the repo. Fell free to make an issue if you want criticize this project I know it's veery simple - I'm not a proffesional dev.

Thank you, folks!

Hi all, I hope that someone will be able to point me in the right direction. Two things;
1. Using LDCad how do i upload missing items or new items?
2. Can anyone help me with manipulating Pneumatic pipes as I install them. I can place them ok at either end and lengthen them using the small balls, but can't work out how to move the pipe through or around obsticals!!

Thank you in advance for any help and please be aware that any explanation will have to be dumbed down to my level!!!!!!

Cheers Martin

New 32 Bit stripped-down AIOI ready for testing

Hi,

upgrading the AIOI to 64 Bit required a stripped-down 32 Bit installer for the remnant 32 Bit progs such as MLCad, MPDCenter or LSynth. Here it is:

http://www.holly-wood.it/tmp/LDraw_AIOI_...bit_v1.exe

* The installer comes without the parts library but reads your Windows environment variable (set with the 64 Bit AIOI) and checks for the library.
* If no library can be found it asks for the path and preforms another check.
* If still no library can be found it will exit the installer.
* Sets all paths as usual
* No catalogue or showcase at the end

I would grateful if you could test it. I'm most interested in the initial check for the LDraw Parts Library. Just rename "3004.dat" to something else. Please note that some dialogues haven't been translated yet.

Hi,

I compiled a 64 Bit version of the LDraw All-In-One-Installer and would appreciate if you could give it a try. The 64 Bit version installs exclusively 64 Bit programs:

LDCad
LeoCad
LPub3D
LDview

along with the usual goodies such as offline catalogue, models and links. Once this is published the 32 Bit AIOI will contain the rest of the progs such as MPDCenter or MLCad.

Please report if you run into issues with the new installer (which will be updated with the latest versions prior release):

www.holly-wood.it/tmp/LDraw_AIOI_2020-03_setup_64bit_v1.exe
