I'm not going to comment about the LDCad 1.7 functionality. However, your second screenshot implies a misunderstanding of the !DATA meta command, either by you, or by Roland. In it, the !DATA section is placed after the !TEXMAP START and before the !TEXMAP END. Unless this is done as a UI convenience, and none of that information is really in that location in the file, then this is invalid.

!DATA behaves very similarly to a 0 FILE entry in an MPD, and 0 FILE entries are not (and can not) be nested. The !DATA line right after the !TEXMAP START immediately ends the sticker.ldr file. And the type 4 line under the data, as well as the !TEXMAP END line should then be treated as invalid data in the !DATA section. (Only !: lines are allowed in !DATA sections.)
