Might be a bit late, but I wanted to respond to the original 'Do we need another LDraw building program?' question.
As the author of LDCad I also often wondered why even bother
but in the end it's my hobby and it gives me the option to make something I personally like the best.
So, imho, you probably had a reason to start working on an editor in the first place that alone should be a good enough reason to do it.
Also not any single editor is ever going to satisfy every single user, so having a selection of editors can only be a good thing.
