If parts.xml is the source, then i only have to build the searchword database and lets go.
Going this way you can choose the layout of the parts.xml just like you want to have it. I can read it.

I think it makes sense to keep as much the same as possible, but definitely prefer separating the keywords in the .xml file (IMHO Steffen was right). So I'll drop the keywords attribute and use <keyword> sub tags, perhaps inside <keywords> tags.
