That is, in a little different interpretation, also a goal of mine with MPDCenter.
The different level are indicated by adding the filename from the container to the filename itself.
By doing this it still remains a valid ldraw file and the you can refer to each file by an individual filename.
Once finished I will store in then .xmpd called files the filename as mpdname&&filename.dat. All file handling has to be done by the application, but can also be done manually.
