More seriously, no, it doesn't work with MLCad. Any color > 511 is supposed to be a custom color and appears grey.
LeoCAD and LDView work fine.

There is also a little issue with LDCad: on the color wheel, colors > 1023 are displayed in hex.

I pulled 10000 out of thin air and Willy used it. We could just as easily use 900+
