I managed to build a very smoothly operating articulated shaft (constant velocity joint) using only lego parts. See my project page at http://rcvj.reininghaus.org for details including a HD youtube video https://youtu.be/okMCTcgzmAw.

Well done! It looks very complicated. Have you already an idea where to integrate it? Where is this Joint usually applied in real life?

Dear Joscha.

Indeed the Thompson Constant Velocity Joint seems to be complicated, but this was my motivation to try building it using only Lego parts, see http://rcvj.reininghaus.org/. For Lego constant velocity joints there is no real life application except having fun Wink , so I am not going to integrate it anywhere. For real life applications of the Thompson Constant Velocity Joint please see https://thompsoncouplings.com/tcvj/.

Kind Regards
Thomas

Still not clear what need it fills.
