Post here Number/Description (preferably also with a link) of the parts you are currently working on.

Re: Parts we are working on - Steffen - 2012-12-19

this thread is a Very Good Idea ™

Re: Parts we are working on (74188) - Max Martin Richter - 2012-12-20

I think, that this part isn't in our library (or I'm not able to find it).
74188
This is the magnetbrick for the minifigs.
The underside is ready. At the moment I'm working on the main part.
Do you have any ideas how to model the "torx-screw" ?

Estimated time for upload to the PT: late end of 2012.

/Max

Yes, AFAIK it's missing.
Quote:Do you have any ideas how to model the "torx-screw" ?
Other screw are modelled as simple cylinder without thread. I think we should go on this way, adding threads is pure waste of resources (work-wise and facet-wise).

Re: Parts we are working on (10051) - Philippe Hurbain - 2012-12-21

Working on it, based on Rolf's mesh.

Re: I'm working om 4480c01 (Old MC) - Magnus Forsberg - 2012-12-21

I am working on a replacement for this MC.
It's already on the PT, but needs a rewrite. See this thread too.
The main structure is finished and I'm now working on the hidden connector between body and fork.
I hope to be finished within a month.

Edit: This part is now done and uploaded at PT as 4480c01.dat

Re: Parts we are working on (10051) - Philippe Hurbain - 2012-12-22

Done.

As always - great work! :-)

Re: Parts we are working on (42942) - Rolf Osterthun - 2012-12-23

I am working on this part (sometimes).

Re: Parts we are working on (42942) - Michael Heidemann - 2012-12-23

Great! I have waited so long and did not get it right myself. Thanks!

Edit:
I just digged what I have so far. Maybe also 42941 can be done Smile

Re: Parts we are working on - Max Martin Richter - 2012-12-28

I will do the new thin 1 x 5 liftarm with axleholes until tomorrow. (At the moment I don't have the part number for it).

/Max

Re: Parts we are working on - Max Martin Richter - 2012-12-28

The part is now uploaded. Actually I have used an u-number for it.

Re: Parts we are working on (74188) - Max Martin Richter - 2012-12-30

Re: Parts we are working on - Max Martin Richter - 2013-01-04

I will try to find out a bit more about 11610. Especially of the how the stud is mould onto the cone.

/Max

Re: Parts we are working on - Michael Heidemann - 2013-01-04

I can not find a part with that number! Where is this number from?

Re: Parts we are working on - Max Martin Richter - 2013-01-04

It comes from here:
http://www.brickset.com/parts/?part=6017003

Re: Parts we are working on - Max Martin Richter - 2013-01-09

At the moment it's not possible do do this part, cause there are no informations about it in the internet. 2 or 3 pictures but I can't see any dimensions on them.
Sorry...(but I still try to find such a part in the real world)

/Max

Re: Parts we are working on (2426) - Max Martin Richter - 2013-01-09

I got such a brick today. And I hope, that I find the time to rework it asap.
It is very hard to open. I have no idea how to disassemble it for the moment.
It's opened now. But is very hard damaged at some areas now. This will be the first part I have to throw away without building it into at least one model...

Parts we are working on (30113) - Willy Tschager - 2013-02-21

30113 - Minifig Accessory Helmet Horned

Part of fourth LU batch

Re: 30113 - Minifig Accessory Helmet Horned - Philippe Hurbain - 2013-02-21

Any photo of stud side?

Re: 30113 - Minifig Accessory Helmet Horned - Willy Tschager - 2013-02-21

I'll check before I upload. That's peanuts compared to the millions of cond. lines this part comes.

w.

Re: 30113 - Minifig Accessory Helmet Horned - Philippe Hurbain - 2013-02-22

Not sure to understand - do you intend to submit it, or do you want someone to work on it?

Re: 30113 - Minifig Accessory Helmet Horned - Willy Tschager - 2013-02-22

Well this is the "Parts we are working on" thread. So, yes, I'm cleaning it.

Sorry, misread the thread title!

2349 and other hinges... - Max Martin Richter - 2013-02-26

While doing the BFC'ing for 2348a.dat, I checked the parts 2348b.dat and 2349.dat. In my opinion they need to be a bit improved. I'm now working on 2349.dat. (2348a and b are ready and will go out with all other involved parts). I think, I will add the bumps for the hinges. That means that I need to do the other hinges as well...Whohoo Wink

I've forgotten how satisfying it feels to get something like those saw blades modeled..
EDIT: done

A new pattern for 2454ps5 - Magnus Forsberg - 2013-05-27

Is this any better?

I have here attached an attempt to improve the pattern for 2454ps5.

Do you think it is better or worse than the current part at PT?

Re: A new pattern for 2454ps5 - Michael Heidemann - 2013-05-27

I hope that is not a real question Smile
This one is IMHO much better.

Re: A new pattern for 2454ps5 - Santeri Piippo - 2013-05-27

The pattern distorts when viewed further away.. maybe direct colors would do better here?

Re: A new pattern for 2454ps5 - Philippe Hurbain - 2013-05-28

Much better, I agree! Must have been pretty tedious Wink
How did you mapped the gradient on the character?

Re: A new pattern for 2454ps5 - Magnus Forsberg - 2013-05-28

I've created the new pattern with LPC, of course.
I first made one mask of the unpatterned surface surrounding the pattern.
On top of that, or maybe behind it, I placed many differently stretched versions of a triangular raster pattern.
By selecting overlapping triangles and using the "SCG Intersection points" I got a set of new vertices.
I then connected these new vertices with "Merge with nearest triangle" and removed the unwanted triangles.
Many triangles it is....

Re: A new pattern for 2454ps5 - Chris Dee - 2013-05-29

Nice now, the pattern is. Excellent piece of work, done, you have.

Re: A new pattern for 2454ps5 - Philippe Hurbain - 2013-05-29

Phew Tongue

BTW, I discovered this part here: The New Elementary

Re: Parts we are working on (13548) - Max Martin Richter - 2013-07-05

Hehe, I just got a link to this great site a few minutes ago.
And I thought about doing this part, too. :-)
Well done!

Re: Parts we are working on - Chris Dee - 2014-01-19

I'm working on the Speedorz chassis parts 11125c01.

Re: Parts we are working on - Santeri Piippo - 2014-04-19

So now that my vbo renderer's actually functional I'm back to doing shields to test it...

So I spend an hour trying to model 41659's little recesses, and I just finally got them done in a clean manner. And then I realize there's two more similar recesses on the other side of the part. D'oh.

Re: Parts we are working on - Magnus Forsberg - 2014-06-09

I'm working on this strange hinge thingy, as seen in this review at the New Elementary.

Re: Parts we are working on - Ronald Vallenduuk - 2015-07-07

Looks like nobody has worked on any parts for a while ;-)
I've started on the PF Track points: 53404 (right), 53407 (left) and 60128 (crossover).
