Is it possible to invert a pattern? - Ignacio Fernandez Galvan - 2012-11-10

In the attached model, the red piece has the arrow pointing backward, and I'd like it pointing forward. Is it possible without creating a new part?

I could just multiply by "-1" the appropriate dimension, but that would be unphysical, causes problems in LDCad and would invert the stud logos in some case (in POV-Ray, for instance). It works with LDView, though.

You have already answered to all you questions. Let me just add for completeness that LDView corrects the LEGO sign on mirrored studs. Read: http://forums.ldraw.org/showthread.php?tid=5654&pid=5654#pid5654

OK. So... if I wanted to create a part with a mirrored pattern, would it be accepted as an unofficial part (as I don't know if the mirrored pattern exists in reality)?

As far as i know there is no brick with the pattern that you are searching for.
I have had a look at Bricklink (http://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?pg=4&q=brick+1+x+2&catLike=W).

As the library (and therefore the parts tracker) only for bricks that exists in reality there is no way to get this part into the library.
Sorry for that.

But that should not stop you in building your own parts Smile
If you like to share your models with others you just have to add your customized brick to the MPD file.
