New LDraw.org website - Orion Pobursky - 2012-05-13 I want to go live with the new LDraw.org website soon. I can't get rid of the old site since the PT still relies on it but I want to elicit thoughts on what main features should be in place before the switchover. Re: New LDraw.org website - Tim Gould - 2012-05-14 Off the top of my head: [*] Parts updates should be there (and are) [*] Main tutorials should be there or on the wiki. Although as an interim solution links to the old site would work. [*] All-in-one-installer and all 'getting started' downloads/information should be there Basically a new user should be able to visit it and get all the important information to get started. Tim Re: New LDraw.org website - Philippe Hurbain - 2012-05-14 Is it possible to see it somewhere already? Re: New LDraw.org website - Orion Pobursky - 2012-05-14 Yes. beta.ldraw.org Re: New LDraw.org website - MoonMan - 2012-05-14 I like the old site. Why the need to update? Re: New LDraw.org website - Orion Pobursky - 2012-05-14 The underlying software is buggy and out of date. It's a management nightmare for the admins Re: New LDraw.org website - Tim Gould - 2012-05-15 Orion Pobursky Wrote:The underlying software is buggy and out of date. It's a management nightmare for the admins It really is. You spend twice as much time trying to make it work as you do adding the content. Re: New LDraw.org website - Philippe Hurbain - 2012-05-15 Looks good (albeit still a bit hollow |
