Duplo door origin and orientation - Peter Blomberg - 2025-08-04

Willy Tschager observed that parts 2205 and 2208 linked below have their origin at the top and their hinges on the left, while all other duplo doors have their origin in the middle and their hinges on the right.

According to Willy, "This has to be sorted out and Movedto if necessary."
Is it necessary?

Beside a new origin they need also:

* Subfiling front/back
* Using the hinge pin: https://library.ldraw.org/parts/45267

It seems 2209 is also with hinges on left

Part 51288 is on the tracker with hinges on left. This is because of the handle, but should the door be up-side-down with hinges on right?

I suggest rotating it on the y-axis with the arc on the top and the hinges on the right side ... and then use the PERVIEW meta to rotate it back in the current orientation so that the handle becomes visible again.

Where do I find info on that meta command?

All header metas are documented in the Official Library Header Specification:

I just noticed that having the hinge on right and the origin at the hinge, means that most of the coordinates in x will be negative.
