LDraw Additional-Tools-Installer 2025-02 v1 now available - Willy Tschager - 2025-07-20

An updated version of the LDraw Additional-Tools-Installer, in short ATI, containing 32-Bit-Programms.

This version comes with an update to MLCad 3.52, which fixes a bug caused by empty.dat on Win11. As a result some parts shrank to a tiny dot in all parts preview windows. Including the preview in the minifig generator.

You can download the ATI from:

LDraw.org >> Help >> Get Started >> Windows >> LDraw All-In-One-Installer

Many thanks to Mike Lachmann for fixing the bug quickly

Hi Willy,

Thankyou for the prompt reply, but i must be stupid or REALLY missing something. Sad
Every link i find on the ldraw.org site to download MLCad (such as: https://www.ldraw.org/downloads-2/third-party-software.html#mlcad), only takes me to the main page for MLCad (http://mlcad.lm-software.com/) which hasn't had an update since 2011 and only shows the latest version to be 3.40. :/

I'm happy to try 3.52, if only i could find a link to it?

Even tried the links in the AIOI... but there was no option for a newer (or ANY) MLCad, so same thing happened.

The Additional Tools Installer can't seem to find the right path, even when i choose it. I've tried /parts, /LDraw, and the folder above that, no luck.

Hi,

I just downloaded:

LDraw_Additional-Tools-Installer_2025-02_setup_32bit_v1.exe

from:

https://www.ldraw.org/article/104.html

which contains MLCad 3.52 and everything got installed into:

C:\Program Files (x86)\LDraw (32 Bit)

just fine. Even a new Parts.lst for MLCad was generated at the end of the installation process. Please post your:

C:\Windows\LDraw (32 Bit)\Setup Log.txt

w.

Hi Willy,

I'm just re-installing everything from scratch to make sure i can follow correctly.

Just running the AIOI, and i noticed i no longer have the option to choose MLCad as an editor:

Will update once install finished.

Hi Willy!

Looks like this worked now. Big Grin

The ATI is the one that contained MLCad v3.52 for me to select and install.
From memory, I was more used to seeing it as part of the AIOI over the years. Smile

Thankyou for your help! Much appreciated.

(feel free to delete my initial query, seeing as though i've bounced it over to here. lol  Wink )
