Colour Request: 15 Lemon and 17 Rose - Chris Böhnke - 2025-07-06 With the recent inclusion of Modulex parts, I think we really should add these 2 old colours to the LDraw colour list. Both were actually used in regular sets as molding colour (though also as prints occasionally) in the early 1990s. Bricklink started to acknowledge them as well a few years ago (or maybe just months ago?). The hex value marked as "Measured Hex" is just a quick colour pick from the photos available at Brick Colorstream. If anyone has a better idea what the hexes should be, I'm open to that. The official ones seem a bit off (though not as much as certain other colours from that era). TLG Name: 15 Lemon Bricklink Name: Lemon Years active: 1992-1995? Example: Part 4839/Set 2552 TLG Hex: #FFF230 Measured Hex: #EEDD42 This colour was primarily used in a few obscure Duplo Playhouse sets limited to the NA market, which had an all "Pastel" colour scheme. It was used at least once as print in System (3811px1). This colour is identical to Modulex Colour 15 Lemon. TLG Name: 17 Rose Bricklink Name: Rose Pink Years active: 1991-1994 Example: Part 3185/Set 6401 TLG Hex: #FF9494 Measured Hex: #F3D3D3 Sometimes known as "Paradisa Pink", this was the first real pink colour released by TLG in 1991 with Duplo (first parts were limited to specialised bath room items). It saw greater use in Paradisa in 1992 for both molded plastic and prints before being replaced by the slightly less yellowish 9 Light Reddish Violet in 1995 (not to be confused by age induced yellowing, this difference is much more consistent). The Basic buckets with pastel tones from 1993 used this colour as well. Here is a good comparison: https://www.flickr.com/photos/193303644@N05/53437616447/in/faves-195537837@N08/ RE: Colour Request: 15 Lemon and 17 Rose - Jeff Jones - 2025-07-06 (on a side not it would be nice if curry and orche yellow got added) RE: Colour Request: 15 Lemon and 17 Rose - Chris Böhnke - 2025-07-06 (2025-07-06, 18:20)Jeff Jones Wrote: (on a side not it would be nice if curry and orche yellow got added) The modern, yet to be released (I think) Ochre Yellow already exists: 0 !COLOUR Ochre_Yellow CODE 424 VALUE #DD9E47 EDGE #333333 Or do you mean the Modulex one or something else? RE: Colour Request: 15 Lemon and 17 Rose - Orion Pobursky - 2025-07-06 Ochre Yellow has been added and will go it with the 2025-07 release. You can get it now via manual download. RE: Colour Request: 15 Lemon and 17 Rose - Chris Böhnke - 2025-07-07 Having done a bit research on external sites, it seems 17 Rose is LDraw's 77 Light Pink - is this correct? Peeron lists it as 77, but the Howerter list has BOTH 17 Rose and the unreleased 223 Light Pink as LDraw colour 77 (https://ryliehowerter.net/colors.php). Lugnet doesn't seem to have listed it as far as I can tell. If it can be confirmed this is 17 Rose, than the request is of cause be ignored. Colour 15 Lemon though is still missing, so that request still stands. RE: Colour Request: 15 Lemon and 17 Rose - Chris Böhnke - 2025-07-08 A little further research pointed me towards Bricklink's (now retired) "Light Pink". Which is a colour they later had to admit doesn't exist at all, but is just regular Pink in softer plastics (similar to "Rust"/Red). To complicate things further, the ID formerly occupied by Light Pink was then given to the newly introduced "Rose Pink". Which still leaves me to wonder what LDraw's 77 Light Pink actually is: *TLG's 17 Rose *TLG's 223 Light Pink (unreleased prototype colour meant to replace Salmon/Medium Red in 2004) *Bricklink's 56 Light Pink (TLG's 09 Light Reddish Violet in PP/rubber/cloth parts) The current colour value of 77 is kind of close to 17 Rose, but it could be a bit darker and with a slight yellowish tint: And yes, the plate is not just discoloured, that difference is intentional. I couldn't spot any pink parts in these 2 sets. Do you mean the print on Zuko's head? Is that confirmed? Or did you mix that up with 224 that's been used for Momo (guess that's a missing colour as well)? Even if 223 is on the that head, that would still limit it to print-only colour. While there are print-only colours now available, I remember the spec saying something about those not being included usually? Or has that changed now? Then there are quite a few other colours missing. RE: Colour Request: 15 Lemon and 17 Rose - Chris Böhnke - 2025-07-08 Thanks. Should have looked at that closer before ![]() It means that 17 Rose is currently missing, so the request is still up. Though now that still leaves some questions:
As a side note, there are ca. 20 rarely used colours still missing aside from Lemon and Rose (including the Curry that Jeff mentioned). |
