Part Request: Tamiya boat mototors (replacements for Mabuchi S-1) - Eugen - 2024-10-16 Request for Tamiya boat motors (successors of discontinued Mabuchi S-1): Tamiya 70153 Submarine Motor ("Yellow with Blue rudder/propeller/hub"):
Playmobil 7201 Underwater Motor (with stiffeners, almost identical to Mabuchi S-1) Playmobil 5159/7350 Underwater Motor ("Blue Violet"???, with slots on nose part and longer rudder part)
NOTE: Mabuchi S-1 already has few variants: Mabuchi S-1 "Blue" with Silver Pattern (submitted https://library.ldraw.org/tracker/32111) (2023-04-19, 18:17)Rene Rechthaler Wrote: Mabuchi S-1 "Red" with Golden Pattern (submitted https://library.ldraw.org/tracker/41271)
Mabuchi S-1 "Red" and "Blue" with a White Pattern in Japanese (i.e., "マブチS-1") RE: Part Request: Tamiya and Playmobil boat mototors (replacements for Mabuchi S-1) - Gerald Lasser - 2024-10-16 Hello Eugen, Out of curiosity, why are you asking for these parts? Are you planning a digital MOC that includes them, do you have an immediate need for them? BR Gerald RE: Part Request: Tamiya and Playmobil boat mototors (replacements for Mabuchi S-1) - Eugen - 2024-10-16 (2024-10-16, 21:16)Gerald Lasser Wrote: Hello Eugen, These are the only Mabuchi S-1 replacements (Third Party parts) on the market actually, which are backward compatible with the next LEGO sets:
And they looks identically to the "white unnamed Third Party motor siluete" as shown in the LEGO instructions for these sets. RE: Part Request: Tamiya and Playmobil boat mototors (replacements for Mabuchi S-1) - Rene Rechthaler - 2024-10-16 found a Playmobil 7350, that one is NOT compatible with the newer hulls... this one only fits to the weighed keel with tab because it has some "fins" at the connector side which makes it too wide for the integrated tabs of the newer hulls. (and we dont like playmobil that much) RE: Part Request: Tamiya and Playmobil boat mototors (replacements for Mabuchi S-1) - Orion Pobursky - 2024-10-16 I'll state for the record that the Playmobile parts will not be included in the library regardless of compatibility. I was dubious about the motor that has already been submitted. Additionally, I can virtually guarantee that any new submission of these motors (aside from patterns of the one already on the tracker) will not fulfill the new policy (but I'm welcome to be proven wrong). And request is active for Tamaya's motors, as they are the only successors to Mabuchi S-1 available in stock (if call Playmobil a "clone brick" company).
