Error with 44568 (official part) ? - Bertrand Lequy - 2024-08-17 Hi again. It seems there's an error with 44568. The usage of p\clh6 is not correct since it's symetrical and the two fingers are not on this part. I have this part on my desk right now and I see the same that's shown on this picture : Does it exist two versions of this part, one with symetrical fingers and one without ? RE: Error with 44568 (official part) ? - Rene Rechthaler - 2024-08-17 looks like you are correct and the official part is wrong... fortunately, the correct "fingers are already there: https://library.ldraw.org/official/29539 https://library.ldraw.org/official/29540 in this part: https://library.ldraw.org/official/26031 maybe its sufficient to fix it by just replacing it. (the new fingers are much newer than the part) RE: Error with 44568 (official part) ? - Magnus Forsberg - 2024-08-17 (2024-08-17, 10:18)Rene Rechthaler Wrote: looks like you are correct and the official part is wrong... Are there 2 versions or not? RE: Error with 44568 (official part) ? - Rene Rechthaler - 2024-08-17 checked my parts: they are all the same (with the up/down fingers) -> official part is wrong RE: Error with 44568 (official part) ? - Gerald Lasser - 2024-08-17 Rene is right, only up/down are existing. I think we had this discussion somewhere in the forum. I made the prim, but I can't remember why the part was not touched. RE: Error with 44568 (official part) ? - Rene Rechthaler - 2024-08-17 Do you then want to fix the part (since the prims are yours)? RE: Error with 44568 (official part) ? - Gerald Lasser - 2024-08-17 corrected including other geometry https://library.ldraw.org/tracker/39839 RE: Error with 44568 (official part) ? - Magnus Forsberg - 2024-08-17 (2024-08-17, 11:57)Gerald Lasser Wrote: corrected including other geometry What's the benefit of this design? RE: Error with 44568 (official part) ? - Gerald Lasser - 2024-08-17 I guess the force required to disassemble the two parts of the hinges is less, you can twist it.... Edit: After doing some tests, I can't really tell what's better RE: Error with 44568 (official part) ? - Rene Rechthaler - 2024-08-17 same reason why 95120.dat has holes through the bottom: to get an easier molding... if there are two full dents facing each other, it would be quite difficult to unmold.
