Unpatterned versions of patterned parts - Max Murtazin - 2022-07-24

Is there a need to upload unpatterned versions of parts that have appeared in patterned variants only? (For example most Bionicle dual injected parts) And if no, are such unpatterned versions allowed on the part tracker?

I would say they are expected, if not mandatory.
There a lot of "unpatterned" parts in the library. Both unprinted and dual moulded.

Yes. From the Library Spec:
https://www.ldraw.org/article/512.html#pattern_gen
"... a plain version of the patterned part should be created even if a plain version has never been produced by LEGO."

Explanation: people can and do scrub the pattern ink off of parts. Unpatterned versions need to be available for those cases.
