Lego Unimog build timelapse - Orion Pobursky - 2011-12-19

I've made a short time-lapse movie of me building the Unimog:

That's no timelapse! We LDraw folk just build that fast in real life Tongue

Yeah, after about 15 Mountain Dews and a pot of coffee.

Re: Lego Unimog build timelapse - Jim DeVona - 2011-12-20

Cool video! Makes me want to build a big Technic model too.

Re: Lego Unimog build timelapse - Jean-Philippe Ouellet - 2011-12-20

Yeah, me too!

Makes me wish I was old enough to know about the 8880 while it was still being made. I've never even seen one in real life Sad My 8428 isn't quite as cool.

I used to lust after the big Model Team sets of that era, too.

Re: Lego Unimog build timelapse - Jean-Philippe Ouellet - 2011-12-21

Oh man!

So when 10151 - Hot Rod came out, I saw it in the magazine and they said it was a remake of an old classic, and I was like... "What? No... Of an old classic car perhaps?"

And now I realize it's a remake of 5541 (the Model Team version).

Thanks for leading me to an answer for that completely irrelevant childhood mystery which I had long since forgotten about Smile

For context, I dug up that magazine from my personal archives.

Given the release year it wasn't hard to narrow it down to the Fall 2004 Shop at Home:

There were also a few other nice technic sets.

This was during the reign of the RCX 2.0 and when the Star Destroyer was still the largest set.
