Parts Numbering for VIDIYO Tiles - Gerald Lasser - 2021-03-01

This will bring us a whole bunch of new patterned tiles. way beyond the 37 that we can accommodate in a given theme. Looks like it will go along the lines of the Nexo Knight Tiles, so shall we adapt a similar numbering, i.e. 3068bpv000? I am not sure if 00 would be enough for a hundred tiles.

RE: Parts Numbering for VIDIYO Tiles - Takeshi Takahashi - 2021-03-02

I think 3068bpv** (*=0-9, a-z) will be suitable, similar as the numbering for collectible minifigures.
This allows us to use 36 x 36 = 1296 part numbers, and we should allocate the next block when it runs out.

The reason we went for the 22385pNNN scheme for the Nexo Knight tiles was because there was an established, published, official numbering - https://spyri.us/nexo/.

Do the VIDIYO tiles have a published numbering scheme? If so we could use 3068bpvNNN.

From the illustrations I have seen, all 6 BeatBox sets have the same 16 tiles. Is this true? The 12 (series 1) Bandmates are supposed to have one bespoke and two random tiles, and the randoms look to be from the BeatBox selection. Is that also true? I am assuming that there will be more series of Bandmates, so I think a scheme like we use for collectible minifigs would work better.
- 3068bpv11 - pv1c for series 1 bespoke tiles
- 3068bpv21 - pv2c for series 2 bespoke tiles
and
- 3068bpv01 - pv0g for BeatBox tiles

P.S. the BeatBox sets are already 33% off at Amazon!

NewE has an overview of the first wave of tiles... 105 or so ...

No...

I got the Unicorn Character today and there is not a single tile matching the ones you see on the official product images.

Would be interesting though, if the same Boxes contain the same tiles, probably not.

An awesome use case for TEXMAP!

Oh. Nice. Images are detailed and clear.  Can someone contact New Elementary and ask if we can use the images?

I'm willing to join their Patreon on behalf of LDraw.org if that helps sweeten the pot.

EDIT:
Rebrickable has the same images so I don't know who's images these are. They might be directly from LEGO which would make things problematic.

I am already a Patreon there.

As I thought, the images are taken from the game. May be unpacked from the APK. Looks like a no-go...

No go for using as texmaps but prolly fine to use them for LPC or Img2DAT templates

When the app has been run once, the png file will be created in the Android folder.

Gerald has done some with IMG2DAT too. They looked good.
I am not sure if all tiles are suitable to do that, so Texmap is a good alternative.

Here they are:

Those were really like a workflow demo, I did no optimization in Img4Dat at all, only thing I manually did, was to adjust the export size of the template, which is somehow flawed (I think I need to update of the SW). Each tile took less than 5 minutes to do.

I am just in a moral trouble concerning the "fair use". On the other hand every script kiddie can get their hands on with literally no effort. For myself I decided not to do these indeed great tiles for a while.

Would need to make a test if the App recognizes the DAT-tiles.
