Part 63965 - N. W. Perry - 2020-04-16

Has anyone got a part 63965 handy and able to get some quick measurements? I think the short end of the bar combined with the stop ring should add up to 24 LDU, one full brick height. Currently it comes to 25.5 (of which 7.5 is the ring thickness and the remaining bar length is 18).

For an official usage showing this, see set 21028, step 73. The bar fits fully inside the Travis brick, flush to the top of its hollow stud (underside of the 1x1 plate), such that the 1x1 round brick can still snap on to the bottom.

I thought the same thing and then I pulled out the real part and compared. The length is correct.

Overall length is kind of correct, but the position of the thick ring is ~2 ldu off

My measurements:  16+8+96=120 ldu

Official part is  18+7.5+95=120.5 ldu

Those dimensions would certainly be logical, and more compatible with Lego math.

Here is the part using those measurements:

Don't know if we can correct and recycle it, or if it needs to be obsoleted and renumbered.
