Part 6135 (palm tree/Technic horn) - N. W. Perry - 2019-12-14

I noticed something's up with 6135.dat—it should fit all the way onto a Technic axle pin (see for example set 8880), but the axle hole isn't deep enough—only 16 LDU, but should be a full stud.

Unfortunately I don't have this part in real life, so I'm not sure how it would have to be adjusted, but it's clearly not as simple as just extending the axle hole.

You are painfully right... the stud is misplaced too Sad

There's at least five different designs of this part.

This picture show only four, but there is also 2536e at Bricklink.
So maybe one of them looks like this and is correct?

And how about that partnumber, 2536? Where does it come from?

I have version a/b/d (edit: and c too). Basic geometry looks exactly the same except for longer base. I try to improve that.

2536 PALM TRUNK
6135 PALM TRUNK W. CROSS

Corrected shapes are now on PT:

Initial parts are to be obsoletized...
For the curious: two stacked round plates on stud fill exactly the top cavity.

Why two links to the same file, 2563a ?

How does this affect the complete palm shortcut?

Are you still working on the fifth version 2536e? Or is that one simply a "smoother" version of 2536a?

I don't think it is. Looks like the stud indentations are flat.

Because I messed up between 2536 and 2563 Big Grin

Geometry change doesn't affect tree shape, but indeed the shortcut should refer to the new parts, not the obsoletized one.

No I don't, don't have the part and I don't have enough photo material...

And now it fits!  Smile
