Part 93094 - Figure Friends Lipstick - Orion Pobursky - 2019-01-24

Rebrickable lists this part as a solid color:
https://rebrickable.com/parts/93094/lipstick-plain/

It does indeed come in solid white in 2 Architecture sets.

In the library, however, this part has the handle hard coded as Light Bluish Grey. I think we should either change the hardcoding in the library part or create a new part without the handle hard coded.

We have this in the official library as 25866c02.

The part exists in black too, apparently https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=93094c03&in=S

Maybe 25866 is for single injection (i.e. solid color) and 93094 is the equivalent for dual injection (as 95108+95109). I'll attempt to confirm.

Done: http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cgi?f=parts/25866c03.dat
Actually 25866c02.dat should have been made uncolored, but now it's official Sad

Sorry, missed your comment before adding 25866c03. Just hope I haven't added to confusion...

RE: Part 93094 - Figure Friends Lipstick - Vincent Messenet - 2019-06-26

Resuming this topic as I just found out that part 25866c03 is on hold on the PT due to incomprehension with the numbers so I think we need to sort out that situation.

The lipstick parts we have for now as official are:
1 subpart for the handle: 95108
1 subpart for the core: 95109
2 parts with hard-coded grey handle: 93094 and its alias 25866c01
1 part with hard-coded white handle: 25866c02

Additionally, on the PT we have 1 part with whole lipstick with color 16: 25866c03

Looking at different websites (BrickOwl, Brickset, BrickLink, etc.) we can find either 25866 and/or 93094
BrickLink uses both for all while BrickOwl and Brickset only use 25866 for solid colors and both for dual colors.

Therefore my proposition for these parts would be:

Option 1: We keep the xxxxxc0x
1. Keep both subparts
2. Rename 25866c03 as 25866
3. Make 25866c02 obsolete (there is no Lego part that combines a white handle with another color for the core).
4. Make 93094 obsolete
5. Move 93094 to 93094c01
6. Switch 25866c01 to an alias of 93094c01

Option 2: We switch to xxxxxxp0x
1. Move 95108 and 95109 to 25866s01 and 25866s02
2. Rename 25866c03 as 25866
3. Make 25866c02 obsolete (there is no Lego part that combines a white handle with another color for the core).
4. Make 93094 obsolete
5. Move 93094 to 93094p01
6. Move 25866c01 to 25866p01 and make it an alias of 93094p01

My preference is option 2

RE: Part 93094 - Figure Friends Lipstick - Magnus Forsberg - 2020-05-02

IMHO, some of the suggestions in Option 2 might be the wrong way to go.
I don't think we should renumber 95108 and 95109 to 25866s01 and 25866s02. They are known, and correct as parts within 93094.

Could it be that 93094 is an assembly, and 25866 is a dual-mould?
Does the single colour parts, all white and all black, show any signs of being a dual-mould?

I think we might have to create 25866s01 and 25866s02, like we do in dual-moulded parts, but without edgelines between the subparts.

I had not the same knowledge when I wrote that post almost one year ago and I agree with your proposition.

I own neither the full black nor the full white version of that part so cannot check whether they are an assembly or dual-mould but indeed that could be the explanation of the different IDs.

This issue is now hopefully rectified.
