Name/number on a Texmap image? - Magnus Forsberg - 2018-12-30

How should a texmap image be numbered?

Some of the images have the same number as the part it is printed on.
Some of the images have the same number as the sticker sheet. Should the 5 or 7 digit number be used?
Some of the images have the same number as the cardboard design use.

All of the stickers from the EV3 set use the 5 digit sticker number. Why?

Is there somewhere an standard for how we should review/handle parts which use a texmap image?

Question regarding partnumber u9252:
Bricklink have LEGO partnumbers on these four cardboards, 191764-191767.
What number should be used on these cards, and there texmap images?

Magnus asked at u9252p01 additionally:
Quote:* (1) Why isn't there a part with White topsurface?
* (2) Should the two parts with rounded corners have condlines, like rounded stickers?
* (3) How come two parts of the same partnumber, have rounded corners, and two have sharp corners?
* (4) The two parts with square corners have all edges present, but the two with rounded have no edges. Why?

Re (1): I added it as ...p04

Re (2): Yes, I think so. Will add them.

Re (3): This is because u9252 started as an April Fool's joke (where I faked the new TEXTURE syntax by hardcoding the image into the file by 1 quad per pixel Big Grin ). I'm fine if anyone wants to split up the part into
* u9252a (rounded corners)
* u9252b (sharp corners)
or something else

Re (4): I will add them.

I like that. This easily makes them associable.
I cannot imagine any numbering scheme which would be _better_.
Example:

Also a nice solution. It in fact follows the above principle.
The image carries the same number as 1 part where it can be found on.

> Should the 5 or 7 digit number be used?

I cannot answer this. Maybe someone else?

Run them through the PT normally IMHO.
What problem do you see?

I'm fine with renumbering the u9252pXX parts
http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptpatterns.cgi?p=u9252
to 191764-191767 if that is preferred.
Of course, the TEXMAPs used in them should follow that renumbering.

I now

split up the rounded vs sharp corners into a/b variants
http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptpatterns.cgi?p=u9252a
http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptpatterns.cgi?p=u9252b

added edges to all parts
