Who can help to create a file for unofficial parts - Peter Wilma - 2017-10-09 Hi there, I have developed and produced some track links for tank models. Of course I have the 3D files from the development. Now I need some help to create LDraw files for unofficial parts based on my 3D files. Is there anybody who can help me with this? Thanks Peter RE: Who can help to create a file for unofficial parts - Philippe Hurbain - 2017-10-10 Hi Peter, What you can do is to export your 3d files in stl ascii format, then use stl2dat to convert them to LDraw file format. You can either use it as a command line tool (http://marc.klein.free.fr/lego/stl2dat/stl2dat.html) or through a GUI, stl2dat is one of the tools included in LETGUI distribution (http://ldraw.heidemann.org/index.php?page=letgui). Remember that dimensions of your object must be expressed in LDraw units, otherwise some scaling will be necessary (1ldu=0.4mm) RE: Who can help to create a file for unofficial parts - Willy Tschager - 2017-10-10 (2017-10-10, 6:54)Philippe Hurbain Wrote: Remember that dimensions of your object must be expressed in LDraw units, otherwise some scaling will be necessary (1ldu=0.4mm)Ideally you already model them using LDU and not mm. w. |
