LDCad, set inventory parts bin - Orion Pobursky - 2016-10-18

Is there a good way to go from a Bricklink xml or tab-delimited set inventory to a Set parts bin in LDCad? I'm aware of the color and parts number issue BL sometimes has but something that get me close without having to hand edit an entire file from scratch would be nice.

Trevor's version of Brickutils (http://forums.ldraw.org/thread-21758-post-23388.html?highlight=brickutils#pid23388) is the best tool so far for that. But it remains pretty picky to use...

In the new 'V3' version of Rebrickable, there will probably be a new export format (aside from the already existing options) to export an inventory to a LDCad part-bin file. Rebrickable has a pretty nice mapping between Rebrickable part numbers, Bricklink part numbers and LDraw part numbers so that's nice.

I had a little email conversation with Nathan (from Rebrickable). He said it'll probably be in the new Rebrickable version, but it's (understandably) not at the top of his priorities, since the new website is a total re-write. He hopes to have the new website online at the end of this year I believe.

But, for now, like Philippe said, Trevor's Brickutils is the way to go.
