LDCad HDPI Screen Resolution Windows 10 - Manfred Kern - 2016-01-24

Hello,

I love this LDCad. But with Windows 10 I always need to reduce screen resolution in order to see the menu text in LDCad.

I am using a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro notebook. Standard and recommend screen resolution: 3200 x 1800.

Is there a trick or a setting, so that LDCad plays nice together with High Resolution Screens (sometimes also called 4K).

Thx,
Manfred

You can change the font sizes by editing %appdata%\LDCad\gui\default\main.gui

But it doesn't work great for all text's yet, I'll try to improve this for the 1.6 version.

I've played around a bit and below seems a working configuration (making most things 1.5 - 2 times bigger). Just replace the fonts section in main.gui with it.

You are free to tweak it more of course.

Code:
startMenu_cap=DejaVuSans,FreeSans,verdana,64
startMenu_recentCap=DejaVuSans,FreeSans,verdana,40
startMenu_recentItem=DejaVuSans,FreeSans,verdana,36
menu_capS1=DejaVuSans,FreeSans,verdana,40

Hi Roland,

Thank you. Looks much better. I do not need to change screen resolution anymore.
I will look, if I can tweak it a little more. Especially the text in the menu bar. But for now, problem solved

The menubar text is currently limited to the height of the icons. I'll try to add a 'double sized gui' option scaling everything (including the icons etc) by a factor of 2 without the need to edit the gui files.
