Hero Factory / Bionicle parts - Jaco van der Molen - 2015-09-05

Hi all,

Are there any Hero Factory / Bionicle parts in the making?
I cannot find the ones I need for a model, but I am looking for these:

Thanks if anyone has these, can make them or have or make mockups.

Hi Jaco,
They all exist as LDD raw conversions here:

...etc...

I am really new to all of this - how do I install these in the part catalog so that MLCAD can find them? Also, is there a way to update the Parts Library every year when it is updated? Thanks for the help in the advance Smile

Parts updates are announced on this forum and the latest update is always available at http://www.ldraw.org/parts/latest-parts.html .

Hi Thomas,

There are some options:

1. You download the part (dat) files and place them in the same folder as your model file. You can then add the parts manually to the model.
2. You place the dat files in the parts folder in the LDraw folder and generate a new parts.lst file so you see these parts in the partslisting in MLCad
3. Do it the official way for unofficial part files: make a folder "Unofficial" in the LDraw folder. Make a folder "Parts" in that folder and place the dat files in the Parts folder.
4. Import the dat files as submodel in your LDraw MPD project.

There are advantages and disadvantages to all methods, but since you are "new" :-) I'd go for option 1 or 4.

Let me know if this works for you?

Thanks Jaco!

I haven't had a chance to try this out yet, but it makes sense Smile I think I'll go for number 1 Smile
