RE: New Parts for LGEO Library - Michael Horvath - 2019-06-19

Am I correct in noticing that the AIOI now includes Owen's and Darat's parts?

I don't think my parts are part of the AIOI (if they do, 'm not aware of it), but Owen's ones are.

My mistake, sorry! I have too much stuff on my computer I can't keep track of everything.

Is this what you are talking about?

https://github.com/billthefish/LDrawPOV

I also have a github account, as well as spreadsheets for keeping track of what LGEO parts have been released and by whom. (Maybe a little out of date, but shouldn't take long to update.) What I am not sure about are copyrights to redistribute LGEO parts. The individual parts just say "for private non-commercial use only" which is insufficient.

No, that was a side project of mine from many years ago. The goal was to create a library that was entirely CSG with no meshes. It was going to be supported by L3P 1.4 but since L3P 1.4 was never officially released this project never really took off.

I'm pretty sure LDView's POV export supports it.

Enable "Search for POV replacements for LDraw parts" in the "Native POV Geometry" section of LDView's POV export settings, then make sure the inc files are in <LDrawDir>/pov/p or <LDrawDir>/pov/parts. Then as long as the filenames match the dat filenames (with .inc instead of .dat), it should work.

Is the SourceForge repo any different from the GitHub repo?

No. I converted it to a github repo along with my other (stale) projects since I'm not the biggest fan of SF's interface right now.

I know I have discussed this in the past, but neither I nor Google can locate that discussion.

Anyway, several parts reference an object called "lg_tech_tube", but it is not defined anywhere in the LGEO files. Does anyone know what this object is and where to locate it?
