Simple Basic models - Dimitri Dewaele - 2014-02-23

Are there some simple basic models available?
I want to try out simple examples based on standard bricks, which are easy to build by small children.
Thanks!

Basic models: Based on simple brick's with 2x4 or 2x2 or 1x4 or .... Typically from Lego or other addition sets. Not the special bricks which are difficult to find. Simple sets to build a tree, small house, animal.

Because I do not know what do you mean by "simple basic models" I do not exactly know what I should present to you.
I think the best for your purpose is to browse through our section of MOC's or the official sets or build your own models according your needs. It is really easy if you only want to use standard bricks.

Do you want actual .ldr files of models to download?
Or do you just want instructions for simple models your kid can build?

If the latter, the Peeron site has instructions for simpler sets from the 70s/80s which might suit.

Here's an example:
http://peeron.com/inv/sets/533-1

On that page you get to see the parts list, and there's a "Available from PICSL" link for scans of the instructions pages that takes you here:
http://peeron.com/cgi-bin/invcgis/scans/533-1/?ct=1

You can find similar sets by searching or browsing themes related to "basic" and "universal" amongst others:
http://peeron.com/inv/theme/LEGO/BASIC
http://peeron.com/inv/theme/LEGO/Universal
http://peeron.com/inv/theme/LEGO/BASIC/Universal_Building_Set
http://peeron.com/cgi-bin/invcgis/psearch?query=lego+basic&limit=themes
http://peeron.com/scans/?tid=30&s=0
http://peeron.com/scans/?tid=29&s=0

Not all sets have instructions available though.
The ones that do are indexed here:

Thanks, this is already very interesting.
I'm most interested in actual .ldr files of models, so I can create my own instructions, step by step. (with a lot of steps for the younger children, and few steps for the bigger ones)
