Perhaps none less so than this one. :-) LDCad can handle them of course, but they are fiddly and take a long time to build, at least if you're going for a great deal of accuracy. I've been working at things like pre-made knots and spools, etc., but I find that these differ almost with each different model. Wish there were a better way to automate them! I'm now learning the use of LDCad including building flexible parts, to migrate from MLCad getting out-of-date. The knots and spools are so difficult for me currently (authoring patterned tiles or bricks is far easier than them!!), but I'll try to create them beginning from an update for set 377. You can create cap parts for things like common knots (if you don't want to model the knot itself, a sphere primitive can be a good approximation), and you could do the same with a single spool loop (or even a whole course of them, if you need a full spool). But I think it would be cool to have an automated spooling script, similar to how spring part meshes are generated. I use the LSynth LS60 segment in my own LDCad string template (it looks more like real string than the cylindrical donors that come with LDCad). You can easily scale them in X and Z to make the string thicker or thinner, by changing the rotation matrix in the path skin dialog. It's definitely not the same spring. 70181 is from 1983 (for the newer, larger 73367 FORK-LIFT TRUCK), while 74603 FORK-LIFT TRUCK (the one being shown here) dates as far back as 1972. Plus, I did some measurements for Philo at his request. The older spring is actually of a larger diameter, and is shorter. In addition to the spring, there are connection points missing from the platform and the standard for the spring to attach to. I gave Philo some reference photos and suggestions (one could "cheat" and just use a cylinder at the top, even though the shape is more like a box with the top two edges rounded off. The peg on the platform is a lot more involved, if one wants to sweat the details.) (3430 is correct as the FORK-LIFT STANDARD) Note: 3429 is also definitely not the spring; which would have a 6xxx or 7xxxx numbering, owing to the fact that it is metal. RE: 1970's - LEGOland and hobby sets - Jeremie Guillaume - 2021-05-07 Hello Takeshi, Here is the string I made for this nice 670 set. I think it's not too bad... Hope you'll like it 670-1 - Mobile Crane.mpd (Size: 68.74 KB / Downloads: 10) Made with LDCad the instructions found on JC Tchang's site about how to make a string with the LS60 LSynth part (inlined in the mpd). And quite some time playing with Bezier curves while taking a real-world knot as a reference... You'll see I fixed three minor glitches, too: - two 3020's were inverted among building steps - the crane was vertically overlapping the truck by 8 LDUs - the red block was lower than (invisible) ground Finally I couldn't resist but put the stickers... but of course, thanks must go to yourself for having created two of those (BTW I'm impressed by the large numbers of stickers you submitted recently on the PT, great work !) RE: 1970's - LEGOland and hobby sets - Philippe Hurbain - 2021-05-08 Great collaborative work on this one I'm especially fond of rope knot! Will be perfect with your corresponding stickers when they become official parts I fixed a small glitch in 1589, at the back of the office ground floor (one 3665a and one 3660 were misplaced, and one 3005 had become a 3004; plus corrected the building steps). Here's the fixed file: 1589 - Main Street.mpd (Size: 25.8 KB / Downloads: 6) Another point I noticed is the alternation of the transparent 3010's / 3622's on the right part of the bus stop. The instructions scans available on the net are not optimal, but apparently they should be in the 3010/3622 and 3622/3010 order alternately (which seems confirmed by the photo overviews of the set). I didn't change that though, not sure of what you'll decide RE: 1970's - LEGOland and hobby sets - Willy Tschager - 2021-05-15 372 - Texas Rangers.mpd (Size: 103.9 KB / Downloads: 4) Known errors: None Done with: LDCad 1.6d Hint: Stickers are at the PT ready to be reviewed RE: 1970's - LEGOland and hobby sets - Jeremie Guillaume - 2021-05-16 Nice model, as always with you Willy It's only recently, and thanks to LDraw, that I discovered this first version of the Minifigs. I personnaly had the 690 during my childhood. For the 690 I had to create the 8x22 baseplate (inlined), which from what I understood only existed for this specific set. I named it u568 (it was previously referenced as x568), is this correct ? Files are OMR compliant, except for the fact they use the three unofficial parts below, currently in ACCN state on the Part Tracker:

Yes, classic space sets are also very nice and I like them. This set 381 was released before I was born (in 1983) and my first police station set is 6386, so I've built this first time on LDraw! I think this set is very well-designed for action playing with minifigs, and broad possibility for alternative builds (no STAMPs used). 607-1 - Mini Loader - Takeshi Takahashi - 2021-05-25 607-1 - Mini Loader.mpd (Size: 2.36 KB / Downloads: 5) Set: 607-1 - Mini Loader OMR Compliant: Yes Known errors: none Done with: MLCad 3.51 608-2 - Taxi - Takeshi Takahashi - 2021-05-25 608-2 - Taxi.mpd (Size: 2.08 KB / Downloads: 6) Set: 608-2 - Taxi OMR Compliant: Yes Known errors: none Done with: MLCad 3.51 645-1 - Police Helicopter - Takeshi Takahashi - 2021-05-26 645-1 - Police Helicopter.mpd (Size: 3.87 KB / Downloads: 7) Set: 645-1 - Police Helicopter OMR Compliant: Yes Known errors: none Done with: MLCad 3.51 646-1 - Auto Service - Takeshi Takahashi - 2021-05-27 646-1 - Auto Service.mpd (Size: 3.47 KB / Downloads: 7) Set: 646-1 - Auto Service OMR Compliant: Yes Known errors: none Done with: MLCad 3.51 RE: 1970's - LEGOland and hobby sets - Jeremie Guillaume - 2021-05-27 All these sets are really cool, especially when decorated with their dedicated stickers I noticed a few glitches here and there - nothing very important but I think would be better if they're fixed
