Hi all,

A strange question perhaps, but what would be the best way to write:

  1. submodel (submodels)
  2. sub model (sub models)
  3. sub-model (sub-models)
In other words as one word, with a space or with a dash?

Your opinion is appreciated.

Jaco
Submodel, like submarine

w.
Wiktionary does it in one single word:
https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/submodel

And as native German speaker I prefer making words longer. :-D

It's the same in swedish. Big Grin
a "sub model" would probably be something else:

Tongue

I also think "submodel" is the way to go

And Danish.

I personally prefer subModel or sub_model.

OK thanks everyone I’ll leave it at submodel then. I was a bit confused because my spellchecker suggested sub model or sub-model and not submodel.?

As a native American English speaker, my tendency would normally be to use "sub-model". However, it appears based on Google that the world at large has settled on "submodel", so I think you have made the right choice.
on the PT, we analogously say "subpart", i.e. use the similar way:
