An impressive list of parts you have to author. I've been working on the parts for 10246 - Detective's Office for quite a while and have still a few torsi to do.

Most are already on the tracker: http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptscan.cgi?q=10264
Including the dish (parasol) I mocked up Blush

Furthermore I just realized I have used a few unofficial files too.
Will that be a problem?
If not, I can replace all missing parts that are on the tracker in my model.

Hi Jaco
Import please the unofficial files to to the mpd.
File is also not OMR compliant.

Congratulations for that! I considered virtual build of this set, but gave in considering the number of patterns...

May I suggest to add steps in main models to allow easy browsing of the various floors?

And a part issue: this model requires 92280s01 and stud4g7 (in 92438), but these files are neither in PT or official parts, nor in model embedded files.

Indeed, my bad. I opened the file directly from my temp folder that contained old and weird copies of 92280 and 92438.

Hi Jaco
I OMRized the file for you and uploaded it to the OMR.

Johann
Hi there,

I tried to build the 10218 pet shop, which still has some problems. At this point I'd like to share and ask for commenting.  Smile

Known problems:

- Not all colors are correct.
- Windows are not all modeled the same way (some frame+glass, other complete; which is better?).
- Center part of MiniFigs are built upon torso+arms+hands instead of pre-built parts.

Edit: please use the updated version below (image didn't change too much, so not replaced).

Thank you so much for all feedback, best regards
Stefan
Very nice!

Quote:- Windows are not all modeled the same way (some frame+glass, other complete; which is better?).
Does not really matter!

Quote:- Center part of MiniFigs are built upon torso+arms+hands instead of pre-built parts.
Since LDraw library has few complete torso shortcuts, this is the expected way.

Quote:- Not all colors are correct.
Not sure to understand. All colors should be available in LDraw?

BTW, do you know you can download part inventories for Rebrickable as a LDCad part bin file (.pbg)? This way you should get the right colors... (provided Rebrickable inventories are OK, sometimes errors may happen!)

Hi Philippe,

thank you very much for the nice words. Smile  I will try to fix the windows so that they are at least "the same way". The colors in LDraw / LDCad are fine, but sometimes I selected the wrong one - until I recognized the existance of the Rebrickable-pbg-file-export...

Apropos Rebrickable-pbg-export: what to do if there are some parts used which in the current LDraw is marked as "moved to..." or just not existing (like in set 854 where 16-technic-brick which is provided as "x.dat" instead of "3703.dat" or "3665.dat" is provided which is "~Moved to 3665a.dat")? I'm just new to official builds, sorry if I missed the answer for this question elsewhere.

Edit: to clarify my question: is it recommended to conform to the Rebrickable database or does it not matter at all? Secondly, in the OMR-tutorial I found "replace ~Moved" by its replacement - is it therefore recommended that I check my OMR-proposals after updating LDraw for maybe-changed "~Moved" parts?

Thanks again and best regards
Stefan

Hi Stefan
When you have finished the model, you can use MPDCenter to check the model for OMR compliance.
This program can also replace the "~moved to" parts and import maybe unofficial parts to the model,
but you can also clean up the model with LDCad's "Cleanup .." before. ---> https://forums.ldraw.org/thread-23733-po...l#pid34457

Hi Johann,

thank you for your feedback. I'll use LDCad's cleanup function as suggested by Philippe. Unfortunately, MPDCenter is not working on my XUbuntu machine (tried wine, mono and wine-mono without luck). Therefore I wrote a small Java program to display the difference in used parts between (Rebrickable's) pbg and (my) mpd to clean up the Pet Shop. With your suggestion, I will add a "~Moved"-detection now Smile  and upload the furthermore cleaned file.

Best regards
Stefan

Hi Stefan
If you clean up the file with LDCad, normally all "~ moved to" parts will be replaced.

Regards Johann
Thank you Philippe and Johann for your feedback and especially your help with LDCad-options. I hope that parts/colors are correct now and that the file is OMR compliant. Smile  There are two parts 1x1 Plate Round in Dark Bluish Gray more than listed at Rebrickable, but so far I couldn't find the ones that are wrong.

You can have both Assembly Square and Downtown Diner. I've order most of the missing patterns so I'll have plenty to do on that front.

P.S. I feel your pain. I can't remember that last time I had fast food or, for that matter, food I didn't either prepare myself or get at work. Plus, I really want to go hiking but all the parks and outdoor areas are closed because bozos don't know how to social distance.

I'm stupid, I don't know how include properly an unofficial part (with sub part) in a model with LDCAD.
In that case, the file is not OMR compliant ?
(2020-05-03, 14:30)Marc Giraudet Wrote: [ -> ]I don't know how include properly an unofficial part (with sub part) in a model with LDCAD.
At Prefs / LDraw / Search (library) paths you can add the unofficial zip file, after this you can just add this part and clean up the file, then everything should be ok.

Missing:

Notes: I'll have 4 missing stickers done as soon as I match fonts to my liking. I have the 3 missing torsos which I'll do eventually or if someone else wants to then I can give them a scan.
