Guys,

I'd like to see how all works. What would you recommand:

https://www.linuxmint.com/ or https://www.ubuntu.com/

I'd go with Ubuntu. This seems to be the most newbie friendly distro. Your wading into dangerous waters asking what distro is the best.

mint is said to be more windows user friendly.
ubuntu is very popular but personally I hate the gui, you might want to consider http://www.kubuntu.org/ instead.

The main thing I personally 'fight' when using (some versions of) Linux when coming from Windows is the click behavior in the file explorer everything else you get used to very quickly.

Mint is based on Ubuntu and has a more Windows-friendly GUI.
