Hi,

we all came across the yellow heads in the library and I always wondered why he have allowed them? The file of one of these says:

Quote:0 Minifig Head with Messy Hair and Eye Patch Pattern
0 Name: 3626bp31.dat
0 Author: Franklin W. Cain [fwcain]
0 !LDRAW_ORG Part UPDATE 2002-02
0 !LICENSE Redistributable under CCAL version 2.0 : see CAreadme.txt

0 !HELP Background color is hard-coded Yellow (14), facial hair in pattern is
0 !HELP Variable (16).
0 !HELP This part has appeared with at least three different printed colors:
0 !HELP Black (0), Red (4), and Brown (6).

The strange thing is. The 3626bp31.dat for example simply misses the stubble and we have better version in the library:

For reference have a look at BL: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?q=eyepatch

So my question is: Why do we not get rid off them?

w.
Yes, I remember trying to understand these.

3626bp31 only exists in brown and black.
3626bp32 doesn't seam to be real. A spook part. I couldn't find any photo of it anywhere.
3626bp33 exists in all three colours.
3626bp34 only exists in brown and red.
3626bp35 was missing, and was the pattern that triggered a remake of all the other versions.

We can't get rid of them, can't replace them with a Move to (because of their reversed behavior), but we should make them obsolete.

(The attached dat-file has more info of LDraw-Bricklink partnumber relationships).

Agree, let's do it. Chris!

w.
I agree. What should be done with 3626bp30.dat?
Guess it should reassemble 3626bp35. At least there is no head with messy hear and moustache that comes close:

"Obsolet" it.

w.
I agree.

bp30 is the same as new head bp35. Why did I miss that...

/M
yes, I fully agree.
these heads were hardcoded yellow to allow for variation of the hair color,
but this had been done at the price of breaking the usual color 16 scheme.
I also vote for obsoletizing them, and instead add the properly patterned color 16 heads to our library
